Foundational Studies

Starting with the upmost elementary aspects of how to bring about good composition and intent to a painting, this class will build layer by layer so that the more complex concepts will come about with ease and understanding. Shape is the fountainhead for all approaches to art. Line, value, color, pattern, and edge each have their own set of theories and aspects that enrich atheistic impact. We will explore these theories in clear and simple lessons. Each lesson will have critiques of known works that display correct and wrong attempts fallowed by in class exercises to bring about what you learned into your own works.
